I Am Not Forgotten
March 4, 2020

GOD WHERE ARE YOU?  HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN ME?” I cried, as treacherous storms of life came crashing down on me. Thunder roared pain and sorrow. Lightning flashed health issues and emergency room visits. Rain poured financial pressure as the bills kept rolling in. Dark clouds overshadowed my family with broken relationships.  The ongoing, hostile whirlwind of trials attempted to destroy everything.

What do you do when you feel lonely and forgotten by people and God? At this point, I had a choice to make — either I would run to God or let problems drown me. I chose to remember the nature of God:

God is omnipresent. (Psalm 139:7)

  • “Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?”

God sees you. (Jeremiah 23:24)

  • “Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord?

God is detailed and meticulous. (Mathew 10:30)

  • “And even the very hairs on your head are all numbered.”

Trust God’s Promises – Even When You Don’t Sense Him

God promises to never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:8)

  • “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

God promises to hear your prayer. (Psalm 18:6)

  • “In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.”

God promises that he will never forget you. (Isaiah 49:15)

  • Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.”

PRAY THIS PRAYER – “Gracious Father, sometimes I feel overlooked, forgotten or lonely.  Thank you for your precious promises.  You are not a man that tells lies, but the God of truth. I believe that you love me and have great plans for my life. When I feel that you aren’t there, remind me that you are. Give me peace that flows like a river. May I always be assured of your love and your Presence that goes with me wherever I am.  In Jesus’ name I pray – Amen.”
