Mirror, mirror on the wall… I don’t like what I see.  How many times have we complained about our physical features, personalities, skill set, etc.?  A person’s greatest critic is usually themselves. The truth is God doesn’t make mistakes!  You have been remarkably and wondrously made!

Not only do we frequently put ourselves down, but we compare ourselves to others.  We covet what others have as if they were better than us.  However, in God’s infinite wisdom, he made us be original and unique – his masterpiece.  No one has the same fingerprint, because we all were created to make an individual mark in the earth for his glory – not to copy someone else.

God desires that we “love others as we love ourselves.“  In other words, unselfishly treat people the way we want to be treated. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to love others if we abuse or hate ourselves. Nonetheless, believing, embracing, and submitting to Jesus Christ and receiving his love washes away the junk and the insecurities that keep us believing the lies about our identity.

When you delve into the Word, you will find that God has a lot to say about who we are.  Let’s get in agreement with God’s Word and say what he has spoken about us, instead of making negative statements about ourselves.

WHEN YOU LOOK IN THE MIRROR, DECLARE SCRIPTURE –  SAY:

I am LOVED by God – “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8

I am Chosen & I am Royalty – “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” – I Peter 2:9

I am the Temple of the Holy Spirit – “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself.” – I Corinthians 6:19

I am Victorious – “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”  I Corinthians 15:57

I am Complete in Him – “And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.” – Colossians 2:10

PRAY THIS PRAYER – “Sovereign Lord, you are perfect in all your ways. I stand in awe of who you are.  Before I was in my mother’s womb, you knew me and loved me. You created me with a purpose. Thank you for breathing the breath of life into me.  Help me to see myself the way you see me. Lord, teach me how to honor you in everything that I say and do, especially in loving others as myself.  In Jesus name I pray – Amen.”
